A method for alkylating a hydrocarbon comprising at least one isoparaffin and at least one olefin by introducing liquid acid catalyst and the hydrocarbon into a high shear reactor, forming an emulsion comprising droplets comprising hydrocarbon in a continuous acid phase, wherein the droplets have a mean diameter of less than about 5 microns, introducing the emulsion into a vessel operating under suitable alkylation conditions whereby at least a portion of the isoparaffin is alkylated with the olefin to form alkylate, and removing a product stream comprising alkylate from the vessel. A system for carrying out the method is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'alkylation d'un hydrocarbure comprenant au moins une isoparaffine et au moins une oléfine par introduction d'un catalyseur d'acide liquide et de l'hydrocarbure dans un réacteur à cisaillement élevé, par formation d'une émulsion contenant des gouttelettes renfermant de l'hydrocarbure dans une phase acide continue, ces gouttelettes possédant un diamètre moyen inférieur à environ 5 microns, par introduction de l'émulsion dans une cuve exploitée dans des conditions d'alkylation adéquate, au moins une partie de l'isoparaffine étant alkylée avec l'oléfine afin de produire un alkylat, et par extraction d'un flux de produit contenant l'alkylat de la cuve. L'invention concerne également un système destiné à mettre en oeuvre ce procédé.
