A method for removing a sludge (62) from a crude oil tank (60) while recovering hydrocarbons from the sludge (62). The method is carried in the crude oil tank (60), is studied to determine a preferred treatment fluid. Once the treatment fluid is in place in the tank (60), the contents are vigorously mixed and agitated. Subsequently, the contents of the tank (60) are sampled and any recovered hydrocarbons are removed, followed by removal of the treatment fluid.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'extraire une boue (62) d'un réservoir (60) de pétrole brut tout en récupérant les hydrocarbures contenus dans cette boue (62). Ce procédé se déroule dans ledit réservoir (60). La boue est examinée pour déterminer un fluide de traitement préféré. Une fois ce fluide traitement introduit dans le réservoir (60), le contenu de ce réservoir est vigoureusement mélangé et agité. Par la suite, le contenu du réservoir (60) est échantillonné, tous les hydrocarbures sont récupérés, puis le fluide de traitement est évacué.
