A B S T R A C T A SYSTEM FOR DETECTING PARTICLES CARRIED BY A FLUID FLOW A sensor system for detecting sand in a gas/liquid flow passing through a pipeline comprises two sensors located in the flow. One of the sensors is covered with a layer of acoustic dampening material. By subtracting the signals generated by the sensors, a signal is obtained that is substantially free from noise generated by the gas present in the two phase flow.
