A system (300), device (320, 330) and method (200) for routing DHCP packets in a public data network wherein a relay agent inserts a source identifier into DHCP request packets. A server extracts the source identifier from the DHCP request packets and inserts the information into DHCP response packets. The relay agent uses the information to determine a destination for the DHCP response packets.

L'invention concerne un système (300), un dispositif (320, 330) et un procédé (200) destinés à acheminer des paquets de protocole DHCP dans un réseau public de transmission de données, dans lequel un agent de relais insère un dispositif d'identification du demandeur dans des paquets de requêtes de protocole DHCP. Un serveur extrait ce dispositif d'identification du demandeur des paquets de requêtes de protocole DHCP et intègre l'information dans des paquets de réponse de protocole DHCP.
