-1- Abstract: The present invention relates to an access switch for connecting a plurality of wires to a bus. The access switch is comprised of a first access unit for closing a first group of N wires and for splitting the first group of N wires into a first group of 2N wires which constitute combinations of subsets of p and q wires contained in N. A second access means is provided for closing a second group of M wires and for splitting the second group of M wires into a second group of 2M wires which constitute combinations of subsets of s and t wires contained in M. A bus select unit is coupled to the first and second access units for connecting combinations of p, q, s and t wires to the bus and for normalling through the remaining combinations.
