ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The specification describes a system for the active compensation of unwanted relative movements of the type which might be encountered during the loading of cargo onto a stationary installation by means of a floating crane. A long-periodic acting system is used to compensate for the static load and a short-periodic acting system compensates for unwanted relative movements of the load relative to a reference level.
