ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE. A system for an efficient manufacture of ozone from dry oxygen or air is described. According to a preferred embo- diment of the invention, the system comprises a generator having a plate-type shape with at least two electrodes made from a light material, which possess a high surface area to mass ratio, enclosed in d chamber which is cooled by a gas comprising oxygen at ambient temperature. A most preferred configuration of the electrodes in the generator is a con- centric one to a dielectric tube. Preferred materials for the electrodes are selected from glass, ceramic or a plastic material coated with a thin layer possessing a high dielec- tric constant. The ozone generator is fed by an alternating current from a power source which uses a frequency of up to kHz. Among the main advantages of the system are the following: its small size and low weight which facilitate its portability for various purposes.
