A diesel engine anti-wear lubricant oil additive composition that includes organometallic compounds of Cu, Ce, etc., is used to catalytically burn-off diesel particulate matter (PM) collected by diesel particulate filter (DPF). A fuel borne catalyst (FBC) of Cu,Ce,Fe etc., required for regenerating the DPF is made by blending a predetermined quantity of used engine oil, removed from the engine crankcase oil system, with fuel in the fuel tank of a diesel engine equipped with DPF and EGR systems. A method of fumigating water and catalytic compounds of Cu, Fe, Ce, etc., into the air-intake system of a diesel engine in the EGR gases from the DPF or air, to reduce both PM and NOx emissions from a diesel engine, with improved engine lubrication perfonnance, is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne une composition d'un additif pour huile lubrifiante anti-usure pour moteur diesel renfermant des composés organo-métalliques de Cu, Ce, etc., que l'on utilise pour consommer de manière catalytique la matière particulaire diesel (PM) recueillie par un filtre de particules diesel (DPF). Un catalyseur de carburant (FBC) de Cu, Ce, Fe etc., requis pour régénérer le DPF est obtenu par mélange d'une quantité prédéterminée d'une huile de moteur usée, et retiré du système d'huile de carter de moteur, avec le carburant dans le réservoir d'un moteur diesel équipé de systèmes DPF et EGR. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fumigation d'eau et de composés catalytiques de Cu, Fe, Ce, etc., dans le système d'admission d'air d'un moteur diesel dans les gaz EGR provenant de DPF ou de l'air, afin de réduire à la fois les émissions de PM et d'oxyde d'azote provenant d'un moteur diesel possédant des performances de lubrification de moteur améliorées.
