A system for applying quick-drying coating agents consists of a plastic container with a pressure relief valve which contains the coating agent, of a sponge with a flat application surface and a structure made of pores open at the application surface and interconnected by capillaries, in which the pressure relief valve is embedded, and of a cover for closing the sponge in an air-tight manner when the system is not in use.
