SYSTEM FOR COATING PARTICLES EMPLOYING A PNEUMATIC TRANSPORT REACTOR ABSTRACT A technique employing a reactor/transporter for coating particulate matter. Flowing metal carbonyl is brought into intimate contact with the pneumatically conveyed particles within the reactor/ transporter. As the solid/gaseous mixture flows, the carbonyl disproportionates into its metal and non-metal values with the metal depositing onto the particles. The employment of the reactor/ transporter permits the coating of small particles on the order of 4 micrometers.
