An apparatus for constricting an end of a metallic tube (or worktube) to form an arcuate-walled portion that has an outer surface is provided. The apparatus comprises a means (2) for rotating the tube (7) on its axis, a movable means (4A, 4B) for heating an end portion of the tube, and a forming rolling means (6, 8). The forming rolling means includes a forming roller (78) adapted for applying pressure on the end portion of the tube along successive lines of contact to constrict progressively the end of the tube. The movement of the forming rolling means is orchestrated with the movement of the means of heating. In a preferred embodiment, each line of contact has a substantially straight portion.
L'invention concerne un appareil de retrécissement d'une extrémité d'un tube métallique (ou d'un tube à usiner) pour former une partie de paroi arquée présentant une surface extérieure. L'appareil comporte un moyen (2) permettant de faire tourner le tube (7) sur son axe, un moyen mobile (4A, 4B) conçu pour chauffer une partie terminale du tube, et un moyen de cintrage (6, 8). Le moyen de cintrage comporte un cylindre cintreur (78) conçu pour appliquer une pression sur la partie terminale du tube le long de lignes de contact successives et resserrer progressivement l'extrémité du tube. Le mouvement du moyen de cintrage est synchronisé avec le mouvement du moyen de chauffage. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, chaque ligne de contact présente une partie sensiblement rectiligne.
