TITLE OF THE INVENTION SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AN ORIGINAL IMAGE SCANNING FOR USE IN SLIT EXPOSURE TYPE IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system for controlling the scanning of an original image in a slit exposure type image recording apparatus adapted to project an original image onto an image recording medium moving at a pre- determined speed, which comprises oscillation means for generating an output of a predetermined frequency, a first pulse counting means supplied with the output from said oscillation means and magnifica- tion data corresponding to a desired image magnification ratio and generating output pulses of a second predetermined frequency. Power amplifying means receives the output pulses from the first pulse counting means and generates a power output. A synchronous motor is driven by the power output from the power amplifying means for moving the original image scanner.
