There is disclosed an implanted atrial defibrillator (30) for applying cardio- vert electrical energy to the atria of a heart (16) when the atria are in need of cardio-vert. The atrial defibrillator includes a sense channel (36) adapted to be associated with at least one atrium of the heart to provide a cardiac signal during a plurality of cardiac cycles of the heart, and a timer (66, 68) which determines a cardiac interval duration for each of the cardiac cycles. The defibrillator further includes an atrial detector (60) for analyzing the cardiac signal provided by the sense channel during selected ones of the cardiac cycles, wherein each one of the selected ones of the cardiac cycles has a cardiac interval greater than a predetermined duration.
Défibrillateur (30) auriculaire implanté destiné à appliquer une énergie électrique de cardioversion à l'oreillette du coeur (16) lorsque cette dernière nécessite une défibrillation. Ledit défibrillateur comporte une voie de détection (36) adaptée pour être associée à au moins une oreillette du coeur pour fournir un signal cardiaque pendant une pluralité de cycles cardiaques, et un dispositif de comptage de temps (66, 68) qui détermine la durée d'intervalle cardiaque pour chacun des cycles cardiaques. Ledit défibrillateur comporte en outre un détecteur auriculaire (60) destiné à analyser le signal cardiaque fourni par la voie de détection pendant des cycles cardiaques sélectionnés, chaque cycle cardiaque sélectionné présentant un intervalle cardiaque supérieur à une durée prédéterminée.
