A system for dispensing a metered volume of heated water to the brew chamber (16) of a single serve beverage dispenser. The system includes a storage tank (10) for containing a supply of unheated water and a dispensing tank (12). A delivery line (14) communicates with the brew chamber and with the dispensing tank at an intermediate level (L) demarcating the interior of dispensing tank into upper and lower compartment (12a, 12b). The volume of the upper compartment (12a) is equal to the metered volume. A vent valve (26) communicates via a vent line (28) with the upper compartment. A supply line (38) connects the storage tank (10) to the lower compartment (12b). An air pump (30) is arranged to deliver pressurized air to the upper compartment. A water pump (36) in the supply line is arranged to deliver water from the storage tank to the lower compartment. A heater (34) for heating water received in the dispensing tank. A sensing mechanism for generating control signals indicative of the level and temperature of water in the dispensing tank. A controller (58) enabled by control signals generated by the sensing means and operative in response to a brew signal (60) for operating the air and water pumps (30, 36) in conjunction with the opening and closure of the vent valve to fill the upper compartment with heated water displaced from the lower compartment and to discharge the thus displaced heated water from the upper compartment to the brew chamber.
La présente invention a trait à un système pour la distribution de volumes dosés d'eau réchauffée à une chambre à infusion (16) d'un dispositif d'infusion de boisson unique. Le système comporte un réservoir de stockage (10) pour contenir une réserve d'eau non chauffée et un réservoir de distribution (12). Une ligne de distribution (14) communique avec la chambre à infusion et avec le réservoir de distribution à un niveau intermédiaire (L) délimitant l'intérieur du réservoir de distribution en des compartiments supérieur et inférieur (12a, 12b). Le volume du compartiment supérieur (12a) est égal au volume dosé. Un robinet de mise à l'air libre (26) communique par l'intermédiaire d'une ligne de mise à l'air libre (28) avec le compartiment supérieur. Une ligne d'alimentation (38) relie le réservoir de stockage (10) au compartiment inférieur (12b). Une pompe à air (30) est agencée à délivrer de l'air sous pression au compartiment supérieur. Une pompe à eau (36) dans la ligne d'alimentation est agencée à délivrer de l'eau depuis le réservoir de stockage vers le compartiment inférieur. Un élément chauffant (34) pour réchauffer l'eau reçue dans le réservoir de distribution. Un mécanisme de détection pour la génération de signaux de commande représentant le niveau et la température de l'eau dans le réservoir de distribution. Un contrôleur (58) activé par les signaux de commande pour faire fonctionner les pompes à air et à eau (30, 36) conjointement avec l'ouverture et la fermeture du robinet de mise à l'air libre pour le remplissage du compartiment supérieur avec de l'eau chauffée déplacée à partir du compartiment inférieur et pour l'évacuation de l'eau chauffée ainsi déplacée depuis le compartiment supérieur vers la chambre à infusion.
