The present invention relates to a system which makes it possible to remove undesirable liquids, generally an aqueous phase, which precipitate to the bottom of tanks for storing liquid products. Use is made of a drainage device (30) which comprises a concave body (31), a seat (26), and an interface float (8) which has a plug portion (25). This interface float (8) is designed to sink into the product and to float on the aqueous phase. As the level of the aqueous phase drops, the plug portion (25) settles sealingly on the seat (26), halting the drainage operations since all the accumulated aqueous phase has already been drained off. The drainage system may be automatic or manual. In the former case, use is made of a sensor (12) for detecting the presence of an aqueous phase and commanding the process of opening a shut-off valve (11) and allowing drainage of the accumulated aqueous phase. In the manual case, an operator periodically checks for the presence of an aqueous phase inside de storage tank (1), through a port (28) for inspecting the level. If such a phase were to accumulate, he opens a manual shut-off valve (29) so as to allow all the accumulated aqueous phase to drain away.

Le dispositif de vidange (30) utilisé comporte un corps concave (31), un siège (26) et un flotteur de séparation (8) pourvu d'un partie d'obturation (25). Ce flotteur (8) est conçu pour plonger dans le produit en phase aqueuse et y flotter. Lorsque le niveau de produit en phase aqueuse descend, la partie d'obturation (25) se fixe de manière hermétique sur le siège (26) faisant, de la sorte, cesser le processus de vidange puisque tout le produit en phase aqueuse accumulé a déjà été évacué. Le système de vidange peut être automatique ou manuel. Dans le premier cas il est fait usage d'un capteur (12) destiné à déceler la présence d'un produit en phase aqueuse et à commander la procédure d'ouverture d'une vanne de fermeture (11) et, partant, à permettre la vidange du produit en phase aqueuse accumulé. Dans le cas d'un fonctionnement commandé manuellement, un opérateur inspecte périodiquement, grâce à une ouverture (28), la cuve de stockage (1) afin d'y déceler la présence d'un produit en phase aqueuse. Si celui-ci est en train de s'y accumuler, il ouvre une vanne de fermeture (11) à commande manuelle (29) afin de procéder à son évacuation.
