The method of forming timbers especially for use as webs (W1, W2, W3) in timber roof trusses comprising feeding timbers (17) in a predetermined path with the timbers extending transversely to the direction of feed and, as the timbers are so fed, shaping the ends thereof to rounded form, and apparatus for carrying out said method comprising conveyors (21L, 21R) for feeding the work, a saw (27) for cutting the timbers to length, and cutters (29L, 29R) for the end shaping.
L'invention concerne un procédé de formation d'éléments de bois d'oeuvre utilisés notamment comme poutres (W1, W2, W3) dans des fermes de bois d'oeuvre. Ce procédé consiste à acheminer des éléments de bois d'oeuvre (17) sur un trajet prédéterminé, lesdits éléments se prolongeant transversalement dans le sens d'acheminement, puis à donner une forme arrondie aux extrémités de ces éléments de bois d'oeuvre après leur acheminement. L'invention se rapporte également à un dispositif permettant de mettre en oeuvre ce procédé et comprenant des transporteurs (21L, 21R) destinés à acheminer le bois d'oeuvre, une scie (27) destinée à couper les éléments de bois d'oeuvre selon une longueur donnée, ainsi que des éléments de coupe (29L, 29R) destinés à former leurs extrémités.
