SYSTEM FOR GENERATING PICTURE ELEMENT DATA OF POLYGON FIGURE AND METHOD THEREOF ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is an image processing system for generating picture element data used for displaying a color polygon figure, at a high speed and with a simple circuit construction and a method thereof. The system includes a calculation unit for solving two plain formulae: one expressing three-dimensional coordinates of a polygon and another expressing an intensity thereat, and calculating partial differential coefficients thereof. The system also includes a plane interpolating unit which is repeatedly operated at each PIXEL generation period , and includes adding units for generating z-directional picture element data and intensity picture element data, an address generation unit for generating x and y addresses, a region determining unit determining whether or not a picture element data defined by x and y addresses is within the polygon region, and a gate circuit for outputting the z-directional and intensity picture data in response to a determination signal from the region determining unit.
