ABSTRACT In a conduit system for feeding water and nutrients to plants, the conduits are formed of thin, pliant, collapsible plastic foil. The foil is formed as tubes, i.e., conduits, and slots are provided in the tubes at spaced locations along the length of the tubes. The plant is placed in the tube through the slots and the conduit is placed upon a sloped plat- form so that nutrient in water solution fed in at one end of the conduit can drain through the conduit and out the other end thereof. A Dike Stick is provided to partially dam the the flow of the solution through the conduit at the location of a plant root system in the conduit to assure adequate feed- ing of the root system, especially before the root system is well developed. According to another feature of the invention, the aforementioned Dike Stick may be provided with legs thereby to form a bridge. A plurality of such bridges may be arranged to bridge over the tube at locations so spaced along the tube as to support the substantially horizontal portion of the vine substantially out of contact with the tube.
