A system for handling a bulk particulate material generally consisting of a vessel for holding a mass of such material; a first elongated tube formed of a gas permeable material, having an inlet communicating with such vessel; a second elongated tube formed of a gas impervious material encompassing the first tube and spaced therefrom about the periphery of the first tube; a plurality of transversely disposed, longitudinally spaced partitions disposed between said first and second tubes, forming a plurality of isolated chambers encompassing the first tube; each of such isolated chambers having means for selectively introducing a fluidizing gas therein independently of the other of such chambers, at variable volumes and pressures whereby the volume and pressure of fluidizing gas diffused through the first tube may be modulated along the length thereof; and means for injecting a flow inducing gas into the first tube.
L'invention porte sur un système de manutention de matière particulaire en vrac. Il s'agit, en termes généraux, d'un récipient destiné à contenir une quantité importante d'une telle matière, lequel est formé d'un premier tube allongé fait d'un matériau perméable aux gaz muni d'un orifice d'entrée communiquant avec ledit récipient. Un deuxième tube allongé fait d'un matériau imperméable aux gaz englobe le premier tube et est séparé de celui-ci par le pourtour du premier tube. Une pluralité de cloisons disposées transversalement et espacées sur la longueur sont montées entre le premier et le deuxième tube de façon à former une série de chambres isolées entourant le premier tube. Chacune de ces dernières est équipée d'un dispositif permettant d'y introduire indépendamment un gaz fluidifiant en volumes et pressions variables, de manière à pouvoir moduler la quantité et la pression desdits gaz fluidifiants diffusés à travers le premier tube, sur toute sa longueur. Le système est aussi équipé d'un moyen d'injecter un gaz favorisant la circulation de la matière dans le premier tube.
