A system for heating a skid mounted tank is provided which circulates a heated skid fluid through a hollow interior of the skid. The heat from the skid is transmitted to a bottom of the tank adjacent the skid, with the heat rising into fluid contained within the tank. The system is system is particularly useful for heating tank fluids in cold environments, such as to prevent water- based drilling mud or other drilling fluids from freezing during winter drilling operations.
