A method and system for managing and providing information relating to radio and television telecasts and Internet datacasts. Listeners and viewers of radio, television or Internet telecasts or datacasts connect through a user interface, such as a telephone or computer terminal, to a database that contains descriptions relating to program information, program listings or other information with additional associated links. This descriptive information can be in the form of text, audio, video, data or combination thereof and may be stored in various formats and potentially stored on separate systems. The database can be indexed in various ways and may be indexed by a station's or datacaster's program schedule or play-list enabling a user to select a particular description of interest. Additionally, the database may be accessed by a selection of a program item contained within a program schedule or program listing.
