A system for improving the accuracy of pharmacy transactions. A health care organization's (100, Fig.1) individual health care facilities (104, Fig.1) are linked to a prescription processing center (400, Fig.1) of a publicly-held corporate pharmacy ("PCP")(600, Fig.1) organization, preferably by means of an electronic communications network (414, Fig.1). The processing center collects, organizes and correlates patient census data from the health care facilities and transaction data from the pharmacies with existing contract data. The collected and organized data forms a dataset that may be used to determine and allocate the charges. Further, the patient and transaction data may be utilized to generate various reports in an electronic format related to the patient, facilities, and pharmacies. In another embodiment of the present invention, the electronic communications network may be utilized to survey the health care facilities regarding the level of performance and quality of the PCP and associated pharmacies. This information may be organized into reports and then forwarded to appropriate administrative and management personnel at the health care facility and the PCP.

L'invention concerne un système permettant d'améliorer la précision de transactions pharmaceutiques. Les établissements de soins individuels d'une organisation de soins sont reliés à un centre de traitement de prescription d'une organisation pharmaceutique de type entreprise publique (<= PCP >=), de préférence au moyen d'un réseau de communication électronique. Le centre de traitement recueille, organise et met en corrélation des données de recensement sur les patients issues des établissements de soin et des données de transaction issues des pharmacies avec des données contractuelles existantes. Les données recueillies et organisées forment un ensemble de données qui peut servir à déterminer et à attribuer des charges. De plus, les données du patient et les données de transaction peuvent être utilisées afin de générer différents rapports dans un format électronique relatifs aux patients, aux établissements et aux pharmacies. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le réseau de communication électronique peut servir à surveiller le niveau de performance et de qualité du PCP et des pharmacies associées. Ces informations peuvent être organisées dans des rapports puis transmises au personnel d'administration et de gestion idoine de l'établissement de santé et du PCP.
