- 1 - Abstract: The invention provides a system for loading sheet materials onto a rotary drum, having a carrier for car- rying sheet material to the drum, means for holding the leading end of the sheet material on the drum, and a presser member for pressing the sheet material onto the rotating drum, so that the sheet material winds around said drum. The system involves a dampening arrangement for dampening the space between the sheet material and the drum surface, which is mirror finished, so as to provide secure contact of the sheet material and the peripheral surface of said drum.
