The invention concerns a method for automatic restart, characterized in that it consists in seizing at least one strand (5) derived from a die using gripping means; moving the gripping means up to drawing means (13), said drawing means being adapted to bring said strand (5) at a drawing speed compatible with a cutting operation performed upon the passage of said strand between an anvil wheel (9) and a cutting wheel (8) of a cutting machine (7); modifying the path of the strand (5) between the die and the drawing means (13) using transfer means (18), said transfer means (18) being adapted to cause the strand (1) to pass between the anvil wheel (9) and the cutting wheel (8) using engagement means (20) or inversely to space apart the anvil wheel and the cutting wheel.

Procédé de relance automatique, caractérisé en ce que on saisit au moins un fil (5) issu d'une filière à l'aide d'un moyen de préhension ; on déplace le moyen de préhension jusqu'à un moyen d'étirage (13) ; ce moyen d'étirage étant adapté pour amener ledit fil (5) à une vitesse d'étirage compatible avec une opération de coupe réalisée lors du passage dudit fil entre une roue enclume (9) et une roue de coupe (8) d'une machine de coupe (7) ; on modifie le trajet du fil (5) entre la filière et le moyen d'étirage (13) à l'aide d'un moyen de transfert (18), ce moyen de transfert (18) étant adapté pour faire passer le fil (1) entre la roue enclume (9) et la roue de coupe (8) à l'aide d'un moyen d'engagement (20) ou au contraire pour s'écarter de la roue enclume et de la roue de coupe.
