ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system is disclosed for predicting and regulating desynchronization of a synchronous machine, in which a voltage detected through a voltage transformer from an armature ter- minal of the synchronous machine is compared with a reference voltage by a voltage deviation detector and the resulting vol- tage deviation performs excitation of a field winding through an automatic voltage regulator and an excitation unit, in which a gap flux detector is installed in the synchronous ma- chine to detect its gap flux. The system comprises an analyzer for extracting a functional value of the flux based on the gap flux detected from the gap flux detector, a signal level com- parator for comparing the resulting functional value of the gap flux with a predetermined reference level, an amplifier for amplifying an output of the signal level comparator, and an adder for adding an output of the amplifier to the voltage de- viation obtained by the voltage deviation detector. This in turn is fed to the automatic voltage regulator.
