The system includes a method for providing transitions between a privileged (310) and a non-privileged operating mode (304). The method comprises executing an application in the non-privileged mode (304), generating an interrupt (308) to request the services of a privileged function (322), and transitioning to the privileged mode (310) to execute the privileged function (322), wherein the privileged function (322) is executed as part of the same thread of execution (302) as the application.

Système permettant de créer des transitions entre des modes opératoires d'un dispositif. Le système comprend un procédé qui permet de créer des transitions entre un mode opératoire privilégié et un mode opératoire non privilégié. Le procédé consiste à: exécuter une application dans le mode non privilégié; générer une interruption pour demander les services d'une fonction privilégiée; et établir une transition vers le mode privilégié afin d'exécuter la fonction privilégiée. La fonction privilégiée est exécutée comme partie intégrante de la même unité d'exécution en tant qu'application.
