A method comprising running a game or application on a server of a hosting service system and constantly recording video/audio output of the game or application in a delay buffer. On periodic intervals reports are made to the hosting service system by a watchdog process whether the game or application is running smoothly. If the watchdog process fails to report in during a periodic interval, then collecting, by the hosting service system any available machine state of the game or application along with the video/audio recorded by the delay buffer.

L'invention concerne un procédé comprenant l'exécution d'un jeu ou d'une application sur un serveur d'un système de service d'hébergement et l'enregistrement constant d'une sortie vidéo/audio du jeu ou de l'application dans une mémoire tampon de retard. Sur des intervalles périodiques, des rapports sont réalisés pour le compte du système de service d'hébergement par un processus de gardien vigilant pour savoir si le jeu ou l'application s'exécute de façon régulière. Si le processus de gardien vigilant ne parvient pas à effectuer un rapport pendant un intervalle périodique, alors le système de service d'hébergement collecte tout état de machine disponible du jeu ou de l'application conjointement avec la vidéo/audio enregistrée par la mémoire tampon de retard.
