ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system for the generation of electrical energy from wind energy consists of a domed building and a large dimension impeller mounted thereupon. The shape of the impeller is adapted to the curvature of the domed building. It is supported on the surface of the domed building via rollers and rails. In the region of the rollers and rails members for braking and holding the vanes are provided. The rotary movement of the impeller is transmitted via a central axis to a machine park housed in the interior of the domed building so as to generate electrical energy. The system according to the invention is distinguished by its excellent stability despite its large dimensions.
