A terminal, an information providing device, a system, and a recording medium by means of which a purchaser safely pay for the goods bougth from a mail- order using a computer communication network. The terminal is provided with a browser for communication with the World Wide Web and a message viewer for communication with a private network. The browser is provided with a means for placing an order wtih a host computer for goods, a means for receiving a message about the prices of the article from the World Wide Web, and a means which transmits the prices to the message viewer. The message viewer is provided with a means which processes the payment of the amount by using the private network.

Un terminal, un dispositif de fourniture d'informations, un système, et un support d'enregistrement au moyen desquels un acheteur paie en sécurité des marchandises achetées par correspondance en utilisant un réseau de communications pour ordinateurs. Le terminal est équipé d'un explorateur destiné aux communications par le Web et d'un visualisateur de messages pour les communications avec un réseau privé. Le navigateur comporte, d'une part des fonctions permettant de passer une commande de marchandises à un ordinateur hôte, d'autre part des fonctions permettant de recevoir par le Web un message concernant les prix des articles, et enfin des fonctions permettant de communiquer les prix au visualisateur de messages. Le visualisateur de messages comporte des fonctions de traitement du paiement de la somme en utilisant le réseau privé.
