A system for treating an affected portion in a heart comprises a catheter having a first end and a second end; a mono-polar or bi-polar electrode coupled to the first end, wherein the electrode is adapted to be inserted into heart tissue; a power source coupled to the second end and configured to energize the electrode, wherein the electrode emits a radio frequency (RP) signal upon being energized to heat the affected portion to a desired temperature; a temperature feedback control coupled to the electrode and the power source, wherein electrode is configured to alter the emitted RF signal based on a measured temperature of the affected portion. A rotatable member is configured to allow a first portion of the catheter to freely rotate with respect to a second portion of the catheter.
L'invention concerne un système pour traiter une partie malade d'un coeur, comprenant un cathéter présentant une première et une seconde extrémité; une électrode monopolaire ou bipolaire couplée à la première extrémité, l'électrode étant conçue pour être insérée dans un tissu cardiaque; une source d'énergie couplée à la seconde extrémité et servant à alimenter l'électrode en énergie, l'électrode émettant un signal de radiofréquence (RF), lorsqu'elle est sous tension, pour chauffer la partie maladie à une température souhaitée; un dispositif de régulation de la température à rétroaction couplé à l'électrode et à la source d'énergie, l'électrode étant configurée de manière à modifier le signal RF émis sur la base de la température mesurée de la partie malade. Un élément rotatif est configuré pour permettre la rotation libre d'une première partie du cathéter par rapport à la seconde partie du cathéter.
