Methods for adapting the operation of a system in response to the detection of embedded watermarks from a digital host content are provided. A digital host content is received and examined for the presence of watermarks. In response to the detection of embedded watermarks and in accordance with the value, type, density or spacing of the detected watermarks, one or more system reactions may take place. These reactions include conditionally allowing the system to resume its normal operation, prohibiting the system from resuming its normal operation, degrading the quality of the digital host content or changing the security status of the digital host content. In response to the extraction of weak watermarks that do not meet the desired system requirements, the extraction operation may be modified or extended to enable the detection of strong watermarks.
L'invention concerne des procédés permettant d'adapter le fonctionnement d'un système en réponse à la détection de filigranes intégrés à partir d'un contenu hôte numérique. Un contenu hôte numérique est reçu et examiné afin que soit déterminée la présence de filigranes. En réponse à la détection de filigranes intégrés et en fonction de la valeur, du type, de la densité ou de l'espacement des filigranes détectés, une ou plusieurs réactions système peuvent se produire. Ces réactions peuvent consister à permettre de manière conditionnelle au système de reprendre son fonctionnement normal, à empêcher le système de reprendre son fonctionnement normal, à dégrader la qualité du contenu hôte numérique ou à modifier l'état de sécurité dudit contenu hôte numérique. En réponse à l'extraction de faibles filigranes qui ne répondent pas aux besoins système désirés, l'opération d'extraction peut être notifiée ou prolongée pour permettre la détection de filigranes forts.
