A power supply system comprises an electrical power generating device producing DC electrical power in the form of a DC electrical current, a DC current conductor receiving the DC electrical current from the electrical power generating device and carrying the DC electrical current to a socket, and an AC power system transmitting AC electrical current to the socket so that the socket can be accessed by a plug inserted therein to receive the DC current or the AC current from it. The socket has four recesses in it, and each recess has a respective contact therein. Each recess is configured to receive a respective prong and make a respective electrical contact with the plug therein. A first of the contacts transmits the DC current, a second and third of the contacts transmit complementary poles of the AC electrical current, and a fourth contact connects with a grounded connection. A DC-pow-ered electrical device has a plug with a plug body and three prongs supported on and extending from the plug body. The prongs include two AC connection prongs and a ground connection prong corresponding to prongs of a standard three-prong plug. The plug further has a fourth prong supported on the plug body into the socket to contact the DC current recess. The fourth prong is removable from the plug body, or is movably supported on the plug body so that the fourth prong may be removed or moved so that the plug can be plugged into a standard three-recess AC socket.
L'invention concerne un système d'alimentation électrique qui comprend un dispositif générateur d'énergie électrique produisant de l'électricité CC sous la forme d'un courant électrique CC, un conducteur de courant CC recevant le courant électrique CC depuis le dispositif générateur d'énergie électrique et transportant le courant électrique CC vers une prise, et un système électrique CA transmettant un courant électrique CA vers la prise de sorte que la prise puisse recevoir une fiche qui y est insérée afin d'en recevoir le courant CC ou le courant CA. La prise comporte quatre renfoncements, et chaque renfoncement comporte un contact respectif. Chaque renfoncement est conçu pour recevoir une broche respective et effectuer un contact électrique avec la prise dans celui-ci. Un premier contact transmet le courant CC, un deuxième et un troisième contacts transmettent les pôles complémentaires du courant électrique CA, et un quatrième contact est relié à une connexion de mise à la terre. Un dispositif électrique alimenté en CC comprend une fiche avec un corps de fiche et trois broches supportées par le corps de fiche et s'étendant depuis celui-ci. Les broches comprennent deux broches de connexion CA et une broche de connexion à la terre correspondant aux broches d'une fiche à trois broches standard. La fiche comprend en outre une quatrième broche supportée par le corps de fiche dans la prise afin d'entrer en contact avec le renfoncement de courant CC. La quatrième broche est amovible du corps de fiche, ou est supportée de manière mobile sur le corps de fiche de sorte que la quatrième broche puisse être retirée ou déplacée de sorte que la fiche puisse être enfichée dans une prise CA à trois renfoncements standard.
