The system and methods monitor odd harmonics within a power distribution system quantity using a special digital filter (1602). A normal level of odd harmonics for the monitored quantity is established. Over predetermined time periods, the odd harmonics within th power distribution quantity are compared to the normal level, and a determination of whether a high-impedance fault is present in the monitored power distribution system is made.

L'invention concerne un système et des procédés qui surveillent des harmoniques impaires à l'intérieur d'une quantité de système de distribution de puissance à l'aide d'un filtre numérique spécial. Un niveau normal d'harmoniques impaires pour la quantité surveillée est établi. Sur des périodes de temps prédéterminées, les harmoniques impaires à l'intérieur de la quantité de distribution de puissance sont comparées au niveau normal, et une détermination est réalisée pour savoir si oui ou non une anomalie haute impédance est présente dans le système de distribution de puissance surveillé.
