The invention provides a heterogeneous immunoassay for detection of antibodies and antigens based on specific antigen-antibody immune complex formation with multiple antigen-bearing conjugate components. The invention further provides means for optimizing the assay format for the detection of both low and high- affinity antibodies, and provides means for quantitative detection of both antibody and the corresponding antigen present in a sample.

L'invention concerne un dosage immunologique hétérogène utilisé pour détecter la présence d'anticorps et d'antigènes sur la base de la formation d'un complexe immun antigènes-anticorps spécifique avec les composants conjugués multiples portant l'antigène. Par ailleurs, l'invention concerne un moyen d'optimisation du format du dosage utilisé pour détecter à la fois les anticorps à faible affinité et les anticorps à forte affinité, ainsi qu'un moyen de détection quantitative des anticorps et des antigènes correspondants présents dans l'échantillon.
