A distributed communication center (234) configured to handle a plurality of communications includes a user zone (204), a web zone (202), and a network zone (200). The user zone (204) includes a plurality of remote terminals (232) that enable communication center personnel (236) and end users to remotely interface with the distributed communication center (234) through the web zone (202). The web zone (202) includes one or more web servers (216) configured and one or more mail servers (218) to interface the remote terminals (232) in the user zone (204) with the network zone (200). The network zone (200) includes one or more telephony servers (212) and one or more application servers (206).
