At a transmitter (100), an ATM cell is received from the ATM layer and is distributed on a cell-by-cell bases across multiple DSL PHY's (160, 170). At the receiver (200), the cells from each DSL PHY are re-combined in the appropriate order to recreate the original ATM cell stream, which is then passed to the ATM layer.

Selon l'invention, au niveau d'un émetteur, un flux de cellules ATM est reçu en provenance d'une couche ATM et est réparti cellule par cellule sur plusieurs DSL physiques (PHY).
