A database of genetic variations is analyzed to produce a haplotype map of the genome for strains of a single species. A computational method is used to rapidly map complex phenotypes onto the haplotype blocks within the haplotype map. The specific genetic locus regulating three different biologically important phenotypic traits in mice is identified using these systems and methods.

Selon l'invention, une base de données de variations génétiques est analysée afin de produire une carte haplotype du génome pour des souches d'une espèce unique. Un procédé computationnel est utilisé pour cartographier rapidement des phénotypes complexes sur des blocs haplotypiques au sein de la carte haplotype. Les systèmes et procédés selon l'invention permettent d'identifier, chez des souris, le locus génétique spécifique qui régule trois traits phénotypiques différents importants sur le plan biologique.
