Systems and methods for selectably controlling and customizing source access to a network, where the source is associated with a source computer, which has transparent access to the network via a gateway device and no configuration software need be installed on the source computer to access the network. A user may be prevented access from a particular destination or site based upon the user's authorization while being permitted to access to other sites. The method and system can identify a source without that source's knowledge, and can access customizable access rights corresponding to that source in a source profile database, which can be a remote authentication dial-in user service (RADIUS) or a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) database. Source profiles are used within the source profile database to dynamically authorize source access to networks and destination via networks. The gateway device includes the ability to recognize computer attempting to access a network, their location, the identity of users, etc.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de commander et de personnaliser sélectivement l'accès d'une source à un réseau, cette source étant associée à un ordinateur source, l'ordinateur de source possédant un accès transparent au réseau par l'intermédiaire d'un dispositif de passerelle, et aucune installation de configuration logicielle n'étant nécessaire sur l'ordinateur de source pour accéder au réseau. Il est possible d'empêcher un utilisateur d'accéder à une destination particulière ou à un site en fonction de l'autorisation dont il bénéficie, tout en le laissant accéder à d'autres sites que lesdits procédé et système estiment accessibles. Ce procédé et ce système permettent d'identifier une source sans la connaître, et de personnaliser des droits d'accès correspondant à ladite source dans une base de données de profils de source. Ladite base de données de profils de source peut être un service utilisateur d'authentification à distance par appel téléphonique (RADIUS) ou une base de données de protocoles d'accès à répertoires légers (LDAP). Ce procédé et ce système utilisent des profils de source de la base de données de profils de source pour autoriser la source à accéder dynamiquement aux réseaux et destinations via des réseaux.
