Systems and methods for treating a subsurface formation are described herein. The system includes a wellbore at least partially located in a hydrocarbon containing formation. The wellbore includes a substantially vertical portion and at least two substantially horizontally oriented or inclined portions coupled to the vertical portion. A first conductor is at least partially positioned in a first of the two substantially horizontal oriented or inclined portions of the wellbore and includes electrically con-ductive material. A power supply is coupled to at least the first conductor and is configured to electrically excite the electrically conductive materials of the first conductor such that current flows between the electrically conductive materials in the first con-ductor, through at least a portion of the formation, to a second conductor and heats at least a portion of the formation between the two substantially horizontally oriented or inclined portions of the wellbore.
Cette invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés de traitement dune formation souterraine. Le système comprend un trou de forage au moins partiellement disposé dans une formation contenant des hydrocarbures. Le trou de forage comprend une partie sensiblement verticale et au moins deux parties sensiblement horizontales ou inclinées reliées à la partie verticale. Un premier conducteur est au moins partiellement disposé sur une première des deux parties sensiblement horizontales ou inclinées du trou de forage. Ledit conducteur comprend un matériau électroconducteur. Un bloc dalimentation est relié au moins au premier conducteur et il est configuré pour fournir une charge électrique aux matériaux électroconducteurs du premier conducteur de sorte que le courant circule entre les matériaux électroconducteurs dans le premier conducteur, à travers au moins une partie de la formation, vers un second conducteur. Ceci permet de chauffer au moins une partie de la formation située entre les deux parties sensiblement horizontales ou inclinées du trou de forage.
