Wastewater treatment system comprises one or more water treatment components (primary treatment system, secondary treatment system, disinfection system) and/or one or more solid treatment systems (coupled to one or more water treatment components) and one or more fluid treatment systems coupled to the water treatment components and/or to solid treatment systems. The fluid treatment system comprises two vortex nozzle units positioned in substantially opposed relation to each other, so that a stream exiting the first vortex nozzle unit collides with a stream exiting the second vortex nozzle unit. The method of wastewater treatment comprises passing a wastewater stream through the wastewater treatment system described above.
