ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reproducing system reproduces a recording medium recorded with a frequency-modulated signal, as a main information signal, obtained by frequency-modulating a carrier by a mixed signal, where the mixed signal is obtained by mixing a luminance signal within a color video signal, a signal obtained by frequency- converting a carrier chrominance signal within the color video signal into a low frequency range, and one or a plurality of frequency-modulated audio signals obtained by frequency-modulating a carrier by one or a plurality of audio signals. The reproducing system comprises a circuit for reproducing the recorded main information signal from the recording medium, a first demodulating circuit for frequency-demodulating the reproduced main information signal, a circuit for separating the output signal of the first demodulating circuit into the luminance signal and the frequency- converted carrier chrominance signal, a circuit for frequency- converting the separated frequency-converted carrier chrominance signal back into its original frequency, a circuit for mixing the frequency-converted carrier chrominance signal with the separated luminance signal thereby obtaining a reproduced color video signal, a circuit for separating the frequency-modulated audio signal from the output signal of the first demodulating circuit, and a second demodulating circuit for frequency- demodulating the separated frequency-modulated audio signal.
