ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE The device is a penlight designed primarily for military personnel. By attaching the device to one's breast pocket or to a metal body with a pen-clip and a magnetic strip respectively, the bulb-head can be adjusted to direct the light to a desired object without having to hold the penlight, making it ideal for map reading. The hood of the bulb-head inhibits the projection of light in a horizontal direction where hostile forces may be watching. The invention comprises a plastic tube which holds two "AA" size batteries and where the top part houses a switch and an adjustable magnetic bulb-head. A cap cover at the bottom of the tube houses five different coloured metal-rimmed filter discs which can be quickly attached to the magnetic bulb-head if coloured light is desired. The bulb-head can be adjusted up and down within a 150 degree angle and laterally within a 360 degree angle. A luminious tube secured to the bulb-head converts the penlight into a traffic wand. The device is water- resistant and has its uses also for civilian applications.
