- 1 - Abstract: Tactile sensing apparatus is designed for providing a sensing similar to that of a human finger for use in robotics and the like. The apparatus comprises a plurality of pressure sensing devices. A processor processes the outputs of these devices. A touch device contacts the respective pressure sensing devices. The processor is able to generate information on pressure, viscosity and slip senses simultaneously in accordance with the direction and magnitude of a force acting on the touch device.
