ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A tag attachment apparatus includes a hollow needle mounted on a hollow pistol shaped housing. The housing includes a fastener feeding mechanism for feeding fasteners one at a time into the hollow needle. The fasteners used with the apparatus each include a bar portion and a head portion which are connected by an elongated filament portion. A plunger mechanism is provided for driving the fasteners through the needle. The plunger mechanism is operated by an electric motor which is connected to a pair of rechargeable batteries mounted in the handle portion of the housing. A recharger circuit is also mounted in the handle of the housing for periodic recharging of the batteries.
