ABSTRACT A tag for a container with a closure whose external diameter is larger at the lower end than the external diameter of the container region located immediately below the lower end is made from a foldable, elastic material, with at least one circular opening provided in the tag and of diameter slightly larger than the maximum external diameter of the closure. Adjacent to the opening, an auxiliary opening of the same size is provided. A folding line is arranged at right angles to the connecting line of the centers of the openings the folding line being further from the auxiliary opening than from the first opening. When the tag is folded about the folding line the two openings are offset and this helps to retain the tag on the container closure.
