A tamper-indicating closure (20) for a container includes a cap (24) having a top wall (26) with removable panels (34). Each removable panel (34) is connected to a tab (36) on the inside of the cap. The top wall includes inner and outer cams (42, 44) on an inside surface and the tabs underlie the cams. A liner disc (32) is applied inside the cap for sealing against the container. A plurality of spaced-apart ratchet teeth (66) are arranged in one or two circular patterns on the disc such that the teeth mesh with the two cams. The tabs (36) have a toothed transverse cross-section which allow the tabs to ride over the ratchet teeth (66) when screewing-on the cap, but are engaged by the teeth when screwing-off. Since the liner disc (32) and ratchet teeth (66) are stationary with respect to the container, unscrewing of the cap (24) causes the ratchet teeth to separate the panels (34).

Une pluralité de dents d'arrêt (66) espacées sont disposées sur la rondelle suivant une ou deux configurations circulaires de sorte que les dents s'engrènent avec les deux cames. Les attaches (36) possèdent une section transversale dentelée qui leur permet de se déplacer sur les dents d'arrêt (66) pendant le vissage du capuchon, mais qui viennent en contact avec les dents pendant le dévissage. Etant donné que la rondelle d'étanchéité (32) et les dents d'arrêt (66) sont immobiles par rapport au récipient, au moment du dévissage du capuchon (24) les dents d'arrêt entraînent la séparation des volets (34).
