Patent

CA 2626382

The present invention relates to a tamper protection device which comprises a protection cap and a retainer for a security seal and is intended, in particular, for a protective relay having manually operable control elements or the like. When the protection cap is in a covering position, which can be secured by the seal retainer and a seal wire, at least one control element is protected from unwanted operation or tampering. It is a feature of the present invention that the protection cap and seal retainer are each releasably connectable to the housing, and that the sealed unit formed of the protection cap and the seal retainer is non- releasably connectable to the housing by an interlocking connection. Thus, it is possible to produce switching relays of identical design in a simple manner, regardless of whether or not they will be retrofitted with the tamper protection device of the present invention.
