A tamper resistant temperature dial (16) and associated method of use is disclosed. This includes a temperature adjustment device associated with a controller (12) for a heating device that includes a rotatable dial for setting temperature in the heating device, a ring (30) that is operatively attached to the rotatable dial or the controller, wherein the ring includes a plurality of notched portions (28) , and a resilient detent (32) having a first portion engagable with at least one of the plurality of notched portions on the ring, a second portion (34) for releasably applying pressure to the resilient detent for disengaging the first portion of the resilient detent from the at least one of the plurality of notched portions on the ring and having a third portion (42) that is operatively attached to the attached to the controller or the rotatable dial. The heating device can be either electric or gas.
L'invention concerne un cadran de sélection des températures inviolable (16) et un procédé d'utilisation associé. Selon l'invention, un dispositif d'ajustement de température associé à une unité de commande (12) pour un dispositif de chauffage comprend : un cadran rotatif permettant de régler une température dans le dispositif de chauffage ; une bague (30) fonctionnellement reliée au cadran rotatif ou à l'unité de commande, qui présente une pluralité de parties à encoches (28) ; et une détente élastique (32) qui comprend une première partie (36) pouvant être mise en contact avec au moins une des parties de la pluralité de parties à encoches présentes sur la bague, une deuxième partie (34) permettant d'appliquer de manière libérable une pression sur la détente élastique afin de dégager la première partie de celle-ci de la ou des parties de la pluralité de parties à encoches présentes sur la bague, et une troisième partie (42) fonctionnellement reliée à l'unité de commande ou au cadran rotatif. Le dispositif de chauffage peut être électrique ou au gaz.
