A vehicle disablement device (120) detects whether it has been tampered with. If the vehicle disablement device (120) determines that it has been tampered with, the vehicle disablement device (120) sends a signal to a tamper disabler (130). The tamper disabler is then able to disable the vehicle (110) in the same manner in which the vehicle disablement device (120) disables the vehicle (110). Accordingly, the vehicle (110) may be disabled even when the vehicle disablement device (120) is tampered with.
