A tampon, in particular for feminine hygiene is provided herein. The tampon includes an absorbent core. A cover is disposed around the core so as to define a tampon surface. The cover is permeable to body fluids. At least one flexible barrier strip is disposed around the tampon surface laterally to a direction of insertion of the tampon. That at least one barrier strip has a first edge and a second edge. The first edge is attached at the tampon surface, and this second edge is spaced-apart from the first edge in the same direction as the direction of insertion of the tampon. The barrier strip is outwardly spreadable from the tampon surface at the second edge thereof.

L'invention concerne un tampon, en particulier pour l'hygiène féminine, présentant un élément central absorbant (2) autour duquel est placée une gaine (4) perméable aux liquides organiques. Cette gaine (4) est pourvue de bandes barrières de préférence flexibles (7, 7', 7''), pouvant s'écarter à partir de la surface du tampon.
